Viceroy Ubud, Bali – To Live Like Kings and Queens

This is actually an old review of Viceroy Bali in Ubud, where we stayed at during our honeymoon trip in 2014. There are so many of hotels and villas now in Bali, choosing one has proven to be quite a challenging task for us. At the end we decided to split our honeymoon trip to three hotels at three different areas: Kuta, Ubud and Seminyak.

The highlight of our trip was our stay at Viceroy Bali, a luxurious boutique villa in secluded area of Ubud. The level of customer service of this villa is absolutely perfect, be it the reservation staffs, the drivers, the housekeepers, the waiting staffs at the restaurants, staffs at the spa, even the gardeners we bumped into. Everyone just being so friendly yet polite, they acknowledge us by names, they helped us with directions to certain places, recommendations, prompt action upon our requests/email responses, they really are stars of this place.

Now, the place itself. It is jaw-dropping beautiful! It has the grand and luxurious feel throughout the compound. There are also gym and library facilities available for guests.

We were upgraded to Terrace Villa and it is humongous. I still remember that time when our butler opened the villa entrance door for us, I was like Oh my God, is this real?!?! (Yes, it is REAL!!!) There is an infinity plunge pool overlooking “Valley of The Kings” – as the locals call it, a bale that is so inviting to just sit and enjoy a good book, an outdoor shower, and the huge villa. The villa itself has an open plan layout with marble floor throughout, super comfortable bed and pillows, cozy living area, the massive bathroom area with his and her sinks, and of course it has the high ceiling and Balinese thatched roof.

Included in our honeymoon package is the two-hour spa treatments, which was heavenly. Finishing of the spa treatment, we were seated at the terrace and looking out to the green valley while enjoy sips of tea/juice, pure relaxation.

Another thing that I was so looking forward on our stay was the breakfast, which was served a la carte. Here are pictures of some yummy food that we ordered:

Seriously, my pictures are not doing justice to the beauty of this place, you really have to come and see for yourself just how wonderful this place is and what the atmosphere like. Just incredible. Honestly, I would really love to return to this heaven-on-earth again one day to wake up to luscious green valley view and just enjoy being pampered as King and Queen.
