Cotton Soft Japanese Cheese Cake

Some time ago this cake was a hit on many baking blog sites and everyone seemed to agree this is a great recipe, it is lighter than the usual cheesecake, it is soft like sponge cake but smooth and creamy at the same time. This is also a perfect dessert for those who always say desserts are too sweet for them, I can assure you this is not too sweet. But beware you are not going to stop at just one slice.

Banana Cake with Nutella Topping

What you do when you have some over-ripe bananas at hand? Make a banana bread or banana cake! 😀 my husband uses banana in his morning smoothies and sometimes, especially during the summer (I think), some of the bananas just went over-ripe too quickly. We try to reduce our food wastage at home, so usually we cut the bananas into chunks and place in a zip lock bag to be frozen before they gone too ripe.

DIY Caffeinated Soap Bar

On our Bali honeymoon trip where we had a walk around Monkey Forest Street and found this handmade soap shop has inspired me to make my own soap bar. I personally prefer soap bar to soap gel/liquid and I used to use Dove, I think it smells so good especially during winter time and it claims to leave the skin soft, which I can’t attest because I used body lotion after shower. Soap bar also lasts a lot longer that soap liquid, hence the savings that I can allocate to other stuffs on my shopping list 😀 It is also a good practice that is environmental friendly (still proud however small my contribution is). Since I started my research on handmade soap bar, I became more conscious of long list of chemical substances put into a store-bought soap bar and that I actually rub them on my skin. Although they have never irritated me so far or as I aware of, it still kind of puts me off buying them.

Happy Birthday To Me

January 14th marks my birthday and I cannot be grateful enough for 30 years of blessings through ups and downs, for a husband who always supports me, for my family and friends, my colleagues, my mentors. All these people have made me who I am today, and I thank God for giving me chance of having them in my life.

I got a Fitbit One from my husband and a lovely earring stand from a good friend of mine. My husband also got me my favourite Watermelon Cake from Black Star Pastry.
