Bread Challenge 3 – Soft Bread with Tangzhong

My third attempt on bread baking: recipe with “tangzhong”. This is by far my favourite method and I have made several batches of bread using this very method. Tangzhong (aka water rouge starter) method was introduced by Yvonne Chen in one of her  Chinese cookbooks, was called as a secret ingredient that originated from Japan for soft fluffy bread and stays so for few days.

My Tea Addiction

I am a big fan of tea, mostly the Chinese tea and green tea. I believe that tea is a good source of anti-oxidant as well as assist in body detox process. Green tea especially has been found to improve bone mineral density and strength. At times when I try to avoid too much of caffeine intake, I will enjoy some Chamomile or Peppermint tea instead. Chamomile is known for the calming relaxation effect, whereas peppermint tea can help with boosting metabolism and also very soothing when you catch flu or have sore throat. A cup of pu er tea or oolong tea is great to wash down heavy greasy meal, as some claims to be effective in fighting fat and helps with weight loss.

Scorching hot day in Sydney

Today’s temperature is reaching up to 35 Celcius degrees in my area and it is now 31 degrees. And to prepare ourselves for such weather, we bought a watermelon yesterday at local Coles supermarket. Hubby picked it after he did some “knocking tests” on few of them and cut it up to be stored in the fridge last night. We are so going to enjoy eating these juicy babies this afternoon biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin
